DAR Cats Needing Homes

Our currently available cats are listed below. If you don't see a suitable cat, please email us at cats@dar.ie as we get new cats & kittens into our care regularly.

DAR has a strict neutering policy so all of our adult cats will be neutered  before going to their new home. All kittens under the age of 6 months will be sent to their new home with a Neuter Voucher which must be used as soon as the kitten is old enough.

All cats should be vaccinated annually at your local vets surgery and they should be de-wormed & de-flea'd every three months.

Moto

AGE: 3/4 Months
SEX: Male
BREED: Domestic Cat
LOCATION: With Finder - Swords
DESCRIPTION:

Moto's finder found him injured in Athlone. He is about 3/4 months old. When he was found he had an injury to his face but this is all cleared up now, after a course of antibiotics. He has also been treated for worms, fleas and ear mites, so is all ready to find his forever home!

He is litter trained and eats Whiskas kitten food and drinks water. Moto will sit on your knee or on the sofa quietly for hours but as like all kittens he likes to play with his toys and loves running about.

He is ok with other cats and gets on great with his finders dog, they play together for hours on end!

If you would like to offer Moto his forever home please contact us.

Cotton, Blackie & Patches

More Photos
AGE: 10 Weeks
SEX: Unknown
BREED: Domestic Cats
LOCATION: With Finder
DESCRIPTION:

These 3 adorable kittens are looking for their forever homes. They are all beautiful, friendly and just waiting to find someone who wants to give them lots of love and attention.

Cotton (white kitten) has problems with her hearing. She is the most confident of her siblings, Patches and Blackie in the previous photos. She will prob need to be kept indoors when she finds her new home as she has no concept of danger because of her deafness. She is soo confident, playful and demands loads of attention!! This little one will bring load of fun and frolics to any home.

Blackie (black kitten) is the smallest of her siblings Patches and Cotton. This little kitten is very timid and scared. Blackie adores nothing more than to cuddle into Patches and Cotton for a snooze.

Patches (black & white kitten) is very playful and protective of its sister Cotton. They are always found wrestling together on the patio. When Cotton looses her sibling Patches, she just gives a cry and Patches comes from the bushes to her rescue. Patches is still a little scared of contact and deserves a chance and a good home.

If you would like to offer one or more of these their forever home please contact us.

They can be homed seperately.

Sheba

More Photos
AGE: 3 Years +
SEX: Female
BREED: Domestic Cat
LOCATION: With Finders
DESCRIPTION:

Sheba is a very beautiful cat with a lovely personality.

Sheba has come into our care due to her previous owners leaving her behind when they moved. The current owners of the Sheba's house are both allergic to cats and travel a lot with work so can't look after her.

She has a little allergy to harvest mites and pollen which is currently being treated, due to this Sheba would be more suitable to a home where she could be mainly indoors.

If you can offer Sheba her forever home please contact us.

Petal and Flower

More Photos
AGE:
SEX:
BREED:Domestic Cat
LOCATION:
DESCRIPTION:

Petal is the tortoise and Flower is white with some black patches.

Flower is semi blind, but can make her way around very well once she has a bit of time to get used to her surroundings. Petal and Flower are lovely cats with a great temperament. They are quite timid at first but they will get used to you eventually. Petal and Flower like being inside and outside. But Flower needs to be confined to an outside area because of her semi-blindness. Petal and Flower would not suit a home where there are small children. They need a good and kind home, with someone patient to take care of them especially at the beginning.

They are both spayed and fully vaccinated.

CAT FOSTERERS URGENTLY NEEDED

More Photos
AGE: Any
SEX: Any
BREED: Any
LOCATION: Your house!!
DESCRIPTION:

Drogheda Animal Rescue is urgently seeking long-term and short-term fosterers for strayed, abandoned, and unwanted cats & kittens. Our cats can be fostered for as long or as little as you like and we will supply bedding, bowls, litter and advice from our long-term fosterers for anyone who needs a little help. We also cover any vet bills in relation to your fosterling so there is no cost to you.

When you are going on holiday or heading off for the weekend, we will happily take your foster feline back into our care. We work to suit your needs and time schedule. Perhaps you are planning on travelling, moving or starting a family soon and would like to have a pet, but do not want a full-time commitment; If so, fostering is perfect for you!

We are looking for cat fosterers in the Louth, Meath and North Dublin regions.

Fostering cats is so rewarding. Not only would you be saving on kennel fees for us, but you are giving a cat who may have been abused or neglected a nice, warm, comfortable, and safe home. For the cats who are a little nervous of humans, the time that they spend in your care can help bring them out of their shell, making them more suitable for rehoming. Waving goodbye to your little feline fosterling who you have helped grow in confidence can be heart-wrenching but is also very satisfying!

Thinking about adopting a cat? Then fostering is the best way to find the perfect cat for your situation.

If you are interested in fostering for us, please email cats@dar.ie or call us on 041 983 2418 and leave a message!

Drogheda Animal Rescue is on the lookout for volunteers who might be able to offer an hour or more per week to help out with the cats. Any time that you may have to offer, as little or as much as you like, would be greatly appreciated!

Of course, we are always in great need of Fosterers who will take in our cats and kittens to give them a loving environment until a new home can be found for them.
