Lost & Found

LOST DOGS & CATS - Please see the Lost & Found section on the Irish Animals website which gives a comprehensive view of "What to do if you have lost your dog or cat." http://www.irishanimals.ie

Drogheda Animal Rescue will also keep details posted to its website and do its best to match dogs / cats lost with those that are found and reported to us. It would be a good idea to check with our rescue regularly.

Quick Checklist for Lost Animals

  1. Contact your local guards and dog warden immediately.
  2. Contact your local animal rescue centres.
  3. Remember that animals can stray into adjacent counties, so you may need to contact two different county dog wardens and garda.
  4. Put up posters of the animal with a photo and details & distribute to local shops, vets, petrol stations, libraries, train stations, etc...
  5. Visit local pounds, adjacent county pounds, and rescue centres regularly, as dogs are picked up daily by the dog wardens.
  6. If there is a local radio station, report the details of your lost dog to the station, as many have a community bulletin or send a Lost & Found log to subscribed rescues groups.
  7. Never give up hope. Keep looking and searching.

If you do not see your lost dog or cat listed here, please check the DAR Dogs Needing Homes, and DAR Cats Needing Homes sections.
